Write with us! Join us on the 3rd Saturday of each month this Fall semester for a workshop on elements of creative writing or artistic expression. Workshops will be led by Heard Em Say’s talented Teaching Artists - some of whom you may have met at Words to Lead By this summer.
Workshops will run from 1:00-3:00p at the Guinn Center (6900 N Nebraska Ave, Tampa 33604). Attendance is free and open to any youth aged 12-19, no experience required. Light snacks will be provided.
Session topics and facilitators will be announced here and on our social media as they are confirmed.
October 18 - El Tapia-Kwan - El is a multidisciplinary arts educator and facilitator. He led a block printing workshop at our summer Words to Lead By arts camp, and is back by popular demand! This month’s he’s leading the following workshop:
Collage on Duality and Discovery, where attendees will make their own personal collages, considering how they integrate the parts of themselves often seen as dark or in the shadows into their full selves. The multimedia collages will help students reflect on how they have worked or aspire to work towards proudly owning all that they are and can be.
